Teachers -- Please read all information below.Attention: International Teachers...All non-immigrant international teachers are required to secure an O-1 visa classification in which a sponsor is needed. Neither SDP, nor an individual chapter, is eligible to be considered a sponsor since all teachers are considered as independent contractors and not as employees. Under the O-1 visa classification, it is also required that an I-129 form be completed by a sponsor (can’t be SDP or a Chapter.) The I-129 form includes a fee of over $1,000 (U.S.) to be paid by the sponsor. Any other visa classification will not allow payment for services rendered. Due to these tightened regulations and restrictions, unless you are able to secure an O-1 visa, we will not be able to pay you for your services. This, in no way, reflects SDP’s high regard for your teaching and artistic skills. We are very disappointed that this information will obviously restrict future selections by international teachers unless the U.S. immigration laws change. New IRS Regulations
Understanding which set of forms need to be filled out is determined by where the teacher lives. Please note that only example forms are available online, you must call the 800 number to order the official forms to be filled out. (To order official IRS forms, call 1-800-829-3676.) 1. To pay teachers who reside within the United States:
2. To pay international teachers (teachers who reside outside of the United States and come to the United States to teach):

You will be required to submit the W-9 form (American citizens only) but only after being accepted to teach. Notification will be sent by email in mid-August 2010 to teachers about submissions being accepted or declined, along with information to proof for the Conference Special. Please keep in mind that submitting both 4-hour and 8-hour classes will increase your chances of selection. Thank you in advance for the time investment you are making to submit projects.
